Jhilam Biswas

Jhilam Biswas (Jhilmil) hails from Boston and was born and raised in the United States. She and her family frequently go back to India to keep their many relatives in their lives. She went to Norwell High School and graduated from Dartmouth College in 2005 with her Bachelors degree in Sociology. She has been singing since the age of three and although she learned Bangla music from her parents at a young age, she is trained in Western contemporary and jazz voice. Since high school, Jhilam has written and composed songs that were later recorded with her composed accompaniment. In college, she sang with the Dartmouth Rockapellas, an a Capella group that regularly tours the nation and will release their 6th album in late 2006.

Currently, Jhilam works for a health care consulting company in Needham, MA and enjoys creating networks around the nation for hospitals who want to maximize their performance improvement. She plans to enter medical school in August 2006 with the intention to pursue her love for medicine and global health. In the meantime, she hopes that Amra Kojon will continue its passionate zeal to keep music in her life.
